Is there Romance on the Horizon for Raven?

Could romance be on the rise for the star of The Disney Channel’s State of Georgia? The former child star melted hearts as Olivia on The Cosby Show and later became a tween favorite on That’s So Raven which showcased her superb comedy skills. More recently she has been in the headlines for her recent dramatic weight loss. She says she always felt she looked great before, but no one else did. Raven has been showing off her newly svelte physique in several magazines and her new show State of Georgia is hit. One would think she has it all, but it always seemed to fans that one thing was missing in the comedienne’s life. So could a romance be brewing for the newly slimmed down starlett? Ever since false rumors surfaced of a supposed pregnancy back in 2009, Raven has been especially private about her personal life. She has been rumored to have dated her former costar on That’s So Raven, Orlando Brown, as well as best friend and fellow former child star Jussie Smollet. There were even rumors she had dated Lil’ Wayne, however she has not commented on any of the rumors and we can only wait and see.

Raven’s New Fashion Sense

Raven Symone has grown up in front of our eyes by being a child star and now stars in her own TV program. What’s on tap for Raven in 2011

Raven-Symone Christina Pearman, 25, has had a busy 2011 so far and doesn-t plan on slowing down. After receiving the Spirit Award at the 21st NAACP Theatre Awards in Hollywood, she-s back to filming more episodes of her new ABC Family series “Great State of Georgia.’ She-s also putting the finishing touches of her fifth studio album and still wants to release it independently instead of on an already established label.

Late September sees the release of the animated movie “Tinker Bell and the Great Fairy Rescue,’ with Raven playing the voice of the fairy Iridessa. She also plans to continue her YouTube cooking tips series, Raven-Symone Presents, when she gets some free time. She also has her hands full with her three dogs.

Raven made headline news this summer by shedding 35 pounds during her appearance at the NAACP Awards and the Teen Choice Awards. Raven, previously proud of her full figure, took up Pilates in late 2010 and still works out about 30 minutes a day. She notes that even though she-s now skinny enough to better help her career and her overall health, she still has low self-confidence.

Raven can also be seen as a celebrity judge on “RuPaul-s Drag Race.’

Every Raven fan alive knows she’s got the spunk to carry of just about any role, but what would you like to see her in? We-ve got a few ideas of our own but don-t hold your breath waiting to see her starring in any of these titles on your Direct TV lineup
The Bodyguard: Who wouldn’t love a remake of this 90s classic? Raven could play Whitney flawlessly and it would give her a great opportunity to show off those golden pipes of hers..it’s a win win!
Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs: Who out there doesn’t think Raven would make an amazing evil stepmother? She’s got the attitude and the dark humor to pull it off and it’s about time we saw some color injected into this Disney classic.
Madea Goes to the White House: So here’s our idea: Raven’s the granddaughter Madea never knew she had and with her skills and political prowess she makes it all the way to the white house. Sounds like another blockbuster to us Tyler Perry, are you listening?

Christmas Ideas

If you or someone you know loves “all things Raven” you might want to consider stuffing her into a Christmas stocking this year. Choose one of her CDs like Raven-Symone (2008), This Is My Time (2004) or Here’s to New Dreams (1993); or maybe give a collection of the Cosby Show DVD series or That’s So Raven. Either way, whether you prefer listening to her R&B/hip-hop style or seeing her artful craft of acting, you probably can’t go wrong by including anything she has put out in someone’s Christmas stocking this year, especially since the star plans to return to television in a new ABC Family comedy titled “The Great State of Georgia” where she plays the title character. Stay tuned for when it is set to air; but in the meantime get those Christmas stockings stuffed!

When Raven-Symone earned her own T.V. show “That’s So Raven,” she already had 14 years of acting experience.At the age of five, Raven acted along with Bill Cosby, Lisa Bonet, and Malcom-Jamal Warner in “The Cosby Show.” By far the launching point of her career, Raven starred as Olivia Kendall, Cliff Huxtable’s (Cosby) step-granddaughter. Raven played as Olivia for three years.During that three year period, Raven made one time appearances in a variety of other TV episodes. From “TGIF” on ABC, to the “Muppets at Walt Disney World,” the actress was by no means a one show star. In-fact the actress also appeared on “The Fresh-Prince of Bel-Air.” Raven played as Claudia on the “Vying for Attention” episode.Following “The Cosby Show,” the child star landed the role of Nicole Lee on “Hangin’ with Mr. Cooper.” The series captured the story of a high school teacher, Mr. Cooper, and in 1992, Nicole Lee (Raven) came onboard as the teacher’s cousin. Raven starred as Nicole until 1997, during which, she also appeared in “Queen” and The Little Rascals.While not her first film, Doctor Dolittle was a break for Raven. Playing as Dr. Dolittle’s daughter, Charisse, the actress starred alongside Eddie Murphy and Peter Boyle in this 1998 film. From The Little Rascals to Zenon: Girl of the 21^stCentury, this was Raven’s first major role in a feature film. Revenge of the Bridesmaids

One of Raven-Symone’s most recent appearances is the film Revenge of the Bridesmaids. The movie helped cap the 2010 wedding season when it premiered on ABC this July.James Hayman is the film’s director. In the past, he has directed episodes of “Drop Dead Diva” and “The Sopranos.” As a producer, Hayman is responsible for “Ugly Betty” as well as “Joan of Arcadia.” With a majority of his shows appealing to women, Revenge of the Bridesmaids falls into the same category.The storyline is both funny and heartfelt. When a best friend’s former flame gets engaged to a fraud, Abigail (Raven) and Parker (Joanna Garcia) step in to save, or rather, ruin the day! During one of her video blogs, Raven talked about the filming and said “the cast is amazing and there are some funny moments that I’m laughing out loud” (Raven-Symone.org).As far as cast goes, the film showcases a range of television stars. Raven’s co-star, Garcia, has achieved roles in “Gossip Girls” as well as “Reba.” Other cast members include Beth Broderick (“Lost”) and David Clayton Rogers (Pregnancy Pact).The film was a success, reaching over 2 million viewers on its premier night. While the movie isn’t scheduled for September reruns, keep checking ABC listings for the next show time.

Pepsi hopes that the collection of tales, including narratives from Queen Latifah and Keyshia Cole, will encourage women worldwide. Over the 21 years that Raven has been an actress, she’s appeared in several memorable roles. But nowhere has Raven showcased her talent more than in her movies. From all the films that the actress has starred in, we’ve found our favorite three.

1. Doctor Dolittle 2 Raven plays the part of a teenage daughter well, and nowhere is this role better portrayed than Doctor Dolittle 2. On the verge of turning 16, Charisse Dolittle and her father (Eddie Murphy) are facing that common parent-child communication gap. From trying to establish a social life, to being too attached to her cell phone, Raven plays up her teenage traits. Equally humorous are Eddie Murphy’s attempts to prevent his daughter from growing up. For fathers and daughters everywhere, Raven and Murphy do well at capturing the miscommunications of family relationships.

2. College Road Trip Surely we can all relate to Raven’s character Melanie Porter and her awkward situation. Melanie plans to take a road trip with her best friends. . . that is, until her dad (played by Martin Lawrence) steps in. James Porter tags on for his daughter’s excursion, making for a comedic tale of father/daughter trips. This film takes our top two spot not only for Raven’s acting, but for her producing abilities as well. The actress was one of seven producers on the Disney film.

3. Little Rascals While Raven didn’t have a large part in this movie, it’s far too cute of a film to ignore. Alongside classic characters such as Alfalfa, Spanky, Stymie and Buckwheat, Raven stars as Stymie’s girlfriend.
